Embassy Priorities
Cape Verde is one of Africa's success stories and is an important partner of the United States. In addition to the overriding goal of protecting and safeguarding the welfare of American Citizens, the U.S. Embassy has an action plan built around three primary interests:
(1) to decrease illegal trafficking through strengthened security and rule of law, with particular emphasis on maritime security;
(2) to increase economic development, with particular emphasis on the transportation sector; and
(3) to strengthen democracy through investment in education.
